Stop the viole.....no, stop the drama!

I haven't been watching alot of TV lately so I had to catch up on my reality TV yesterday. Between Bad Girls Club, Basketball Wives and a plethora of other drama-ridden shows, I cant understand these women! I'm not going to discuss the issues of the shows and what the story lines are but I do want to confront a crisis among our women, specifically BELIZEAN women. Here i go...*laces shoes*

I have never been the one to make drama for myself or be a part of it but in some way, shape or form, IT always finds me. Chicago is a large city but its a small, small Belizean community. If it isn't one topic brought up, something is made up. (and they are good for that) Belizeans have this saying: if dah nuh so, dah nai-ly so! (translation...if that's not how it goes, its close to that) Basically, if what is said, isn't true, whatever was said, is close to the truth. SMDH It seems like the drama never ends. The cattiness between females and the back/forth banter is just too much. Now I see why people disassociate themselves with the Belizean community altogether.

Now don't get me wrong. I love my Belizean culture and the people in it but some Belizeans are trifling. Its hard to want to be a part of something that can be soo negative. I'm sure other cultures struggle with the same issues, right? Can i get a comment from my African friends or any others?

  1. This topic was discussed recently with some friends of mine,(both male and female) and we talked a lot about the relationships between Women & other Women. I have a few Women that I consider close friends, and the consensus always seems to be "I don't trust other girls". I always question why Women seem to want to tear other Women down all the time and with our Social Networking connections these days, it is more evident than ever. I guess I can't speak too much on the subject seeing as though I am a Man lol, but I just wonder how long a majority of Women will continue to treat each other like crabs in a bucket...
