This is a valid question. Are you? I know some relationships end and you want to have a person that you can talk to about your feelings and possibly even hook up with to get your mind off of your ex but is that safe? Here are some ways to know if you have put yourself in that situation:
Do you find yourself constantly thinking about your last failed relationship?
Are you stalking your ex's facebook, twitter, google+ to see if they have moved on or not?
Are you continuously thinking about the past and what you could have done differently to save that last relationship?
If you answered yes to these questions, then you shouldn't be thinking about getting into another relationship until you have gotten your feelings and emotions taken care of. Jumping into another relationship shortly after your most recent one leaves you vulnerable.
Now figuring out if your new spouse is using you as a rebound is a little bit more trickier. An easy way is to just ask when was their last relationship, how long did it last and what happened. This is definitely not a conversation on a first date but once you two have gotten to hang out a little more, it is a topic that should be up for discussion.
Remember, i'm not saying rebound relationships never work but they are unlikely. Hey, you never know. Who is to say that after a bad breakup, that guy/girl that had always been there for you, puts on their cape and swoops you up into the moon and stars? They were just waiting for someone to mess up so they could take you away. And that's alright with me ;)
