Do you look for a 'type'?

Do you remember having standards and having a type that you were looking for in a female/male? Do you still look for that? Men prefer ladies that are tall or short, short/long hair, long legs, big boobs or a big butt, nice smile, great personality, social butterfly or homebody. Women used to look for a tall, dark and handsome man or light-skinned with light eyes and curly hair and/or muscular/athletic. There were all of these high standards and we really knew exactly what we wanted in our future spouse.

Nowadays, I dont know if women and men are necessarily looking for a type of person to date. People are just going after whatever. Sometimes that makes perfect sense, seeing as though there really isnt that many fish in the sea. Either a man is fully gay, on the down low, married, the chick is a lesbian, a hoe or a hoodrat...you get my drift? Or maybe we just aren't looking in the right place. If you are looking for your 'future' in the clubs, you have no standards. I'm just saying. Your future Prince Charming will NOT be the guy at the bar eyeing you like a piece of steak and offering to get you drunk. Sorry.

It definitely looks like as a human race, we have lowered our standards because what we are looking for is nowhere to be found and we are getting fed up or we just don't care anymore. On the other hand, some standards are waaaay too high and it looks like you will be on Single St. for the better part of your life. For example, Chilli (TLC) had the highest standards ever and she is still single and looking. As a woman, I dont put anything past a man BUT I also know that men are not perfect. I know I am not perfect and whoever can deal with me, flaws and all, will get the Heisman Trophy/MVP award! lol Once you can realize that MEN will mess up, you can move forward and not have your heart broken every 6 months. I am definitely not telling everyone to settle. Do NOT settle for anything! Have some type of respect for yourself! But at the same time, waiting for a woman that is I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T., flawless when she wakes up, wears heels around the house, can pop out 5 kids and still be bone thin is really dreaming and you should wake the hell up. Its 2011! Those women are buried or over 100 years old. One love,
